India struck double gold in the mixed-team events at the World Archery Para Series in Nove Mesto, with wins in both the compound and recurve finals on the same day.
In the compound final, Sheetal Devi and Shyam Sundar Swami held off Indonesia 147–143 to take the title, having earlier dispatched France 156–144 in a commanding semi-final.
The recurve mixed-team crown followed as Bhawna and Harvinder Singh — India's reigning Paralympic champion — defeated Indonesia 6–2 in the gold-medal match.
Mixed-team formats have become a genuine Indian strength in para archery: they demand two archers who can score under pressure in alternating rotation, and India's pairings in Nove Mesto looked settled and confident in both disciplines.
The two titles set the tone for a campaign that would end with a ten-medal haul for India across the event — a benchmark for every para programme in the country, including the young one we are building here in Punjab.
