India's recurve mixed team of Kumkum Anil Mohod and Dhiraj Bommadevara booked their place in the gold-medal match at the Antalya World Cup (Stage 3), beating Germany's Katharina Bauer and Moritz Wieser 6–2 in the semi-final round.
The Indian pair's set scores of 36, 39, 38 and 38 were enough to take three of the four sets against the Germans' 37, 37, 36 and 37 — dropping only the opener before settling into a rhythm the Germans could not match. The final, against the winners of the other semi-final, was scheduled for the closing Sunday of the stage.
Elsewhere in the individual eliminations, results were mixed for India. In the men's 1/24 round, Neeraj Chauhan advanced past Bangladesh's Rahman Abdur Alif 7–3, but Yashdeep Sanjay Bhoge fell 1–7 to Belgium's Jarno De Smedt and Atanu Das went down 2–6 to Türkiye's Harun Kirmizitas. The women's round of 32 brought two confident Indian wins: Ankita Bhakat past the Netherlands' Quinty Roeffen 6–4, and Kirti Sharma with a 6–0 sweep of China's Huang Yuwei.
The mixed-team final would prove worth the wait — but that is a story for the weekend's report.
